The condition for my watching True Blood this season was simple: Silence. So I told my fiance that I deserve a second watching session so that I could iterate my musings about the bewilderment of this program. You can’t NOT react when Eric rips off a mans genitalia and the camera proceeds to do aContinue reading “A Bystander’s Guide to True Blood’s Season 6 Finale”
I’ve heard every criticism there is about anime. The most common was the sentiment that I, even as a young teen, was too old to be watching these Japanese imported “cartoons.” Or that the content is a disruption of the moral fibers in society’s youth. Or that it’s just plain stupid.
My only options for comfort are either lying on my right side or on my stomach. A clear, plastic bulb gathers blood from an open wound. I can’t drive, I can’t shower, I can’t work. 2012 has been a bit of a d*ck.
The Union My phone blew up with about a dozen texts, all with the same message telling me to get to the Kansas Student Union. I couldn’t get out of my apartment fast enough. It was Dec. 3, 2010, and I had a date. She would have to wait.
“Batman: Arkham City” Developed by Rocksteady Studios Rated “T” — EDIT: I am 100 percent done with the game, and have completed all achievements. I could add to this all day because of all the daily traffic, but there is so much to cover. So if you need specific help, I’d be happy to help.Continue reading “The joys of Arkham City”
If “The Dark Knight” is the greatest superhero movie ever made, then “Batman: Arkham Asylum” is the greatest superhero video game ever made. Both have sequels in the works, with “The Dark Knight Rises” to be released summer 2012 and “Batman: Arkham City” coming out next month. As of right now, I couldn’t care lessContinue reading ““Arkham City” will make “Dark Knight Rises” Bat-moot”
My Madden 11 purpose is served. Tim Tebow is in the Hall of Fame. On the eve of Madden 12, I can honestly say that my year-long task of getting my left-handed, twinkle-toe Tebow to the HOF is my most satisfying accomplishment in any sports video game. A taste of what could actually be orContinue reading “Tim Tebow and the Hall of Fame Dimension”
This is the greatest conversation I have ever had via text: “Have you ever seen the room?” my friend sent me. “Are you talking about like the worst movie ever made?” I replied. “Yeah…” I had heard of its legend before. I had a fiction writing professor that said it went against everything a goodContinue reading “Lost inside The Room”
I have watched sports for approximately 5,530 hours of my life. I have experienced true happiness in five of them. That is an awful ratio. I thought of quitting plenty of times. “Why do I watch sports again?” I always asked myself. It was an honest question. I invested so much time and emotion intoContinue reading “Sports, Dirk and the Pursuit of Happiness”
I should start charging for you to sit outside my bathroom door as a I shower. I take the greatest showers on planet Earth. For in those moments, I can spit and bellow out every song I know to my little heart’s content. This is every shower. Ask my family, ask my roommates. Every shower,Continue reading “Show(er) Time”
